Supporting communities to secure good quality and value in their youth provision

Many communities have invested a lot of time and money into their clubs and need to be able to check they are providing good value. Whether communities have chosen to commission a youth work provider or employ staff directly it can be difficult for them to know exactly what to look for, and this is where we can help.

Somerset Youth & Community Service offers three packages to help communities ensure they are ‘securing value':

How much should you be paying?

undefinedWhilst the price may not be everything, it's essential to know whether or not what you're paying your staff (if you are employing them directly) or your youth work provider represents value for money. Below is a comparison from management committees and youth work providers across the county. It is based on a two hour a week, 40 week a year youth club with two paid staff. Variables include the amount of management and preparation time. This document doesn't include the costs of venue or programme. Click on the image to download the document.

The way clubs are managed and the quality and type of work delivered can vary with managing group and provider.

Please contact Kirstie Brown or Zara Scott-Davies (01823 349852) to discuss the differences.
