Kate facilitates the UK Youth Parliament Advisory Group in Somerset.  She helps the elected Members of Youth Parliament, their Deputies and the Advisory Group to take forward their manifesto pledges and develop any additional projects alongside their campaigns. She enables the group to be part of consultations and decision making opportunities across the county.

In addition Kate supports voluntary youth workers across the county to deliver effective youth work in their clubs. She works closely alongside workers and young people advising, mentoring and sharing knowledge and technique.

Kate has been a youth worker for almost 20 years. Before that she was a civil servant and a foster carer. She is experienced in creating, setting up and running youth clubs and projects; developing staff teams and running and promoting programmes. She has designed and delivered numerous schools projects and worked with colleges and run outreach programmes. She is passionate about working with and for young people. Kate is particularly interested in equality, diversity and Youth Voice and began to specialise in Somerset's Youth Parliament work about 4 years ago.

Kate has an Art Foundation course qualification and a BA (Hons) degree in Youth and Community work from the YMCA George Williams College in London. She is just completing a Level 3 Coaching Course.

Kate loves music and travelling.
